Taken from a drawing by John Howe for The Lord of the Rings movie. I wanted to represent the pencil sketch in 3D with all the ambiance of an old English town. Note the horse observing the festivities through the window of the Prancing Pony while the ominous sky looms overhead.

Drawing by John Howe.
Modeled for an interior design client to represent a modern kitchen with a new set of cabinets, sink and stove top. I used Mental Ray materials for the various surfaces and to render this image with realistic lighting.
This is a snapshot from a demo I created to show the Xbox 360 technology while the console was being developed. In this scene there are volumetric clouds, instanced trees, grass, and rocks. Also animated sprites for birds and smoke from the chimney. Real-time reflections and motion blur complete the demo.

This car was used for an intro cinematic sequence for a prototype PC racing game. I explored custom materials/shaders to achieve realistic paint.
These are renders of unique prototype boats, named Piranha and Shomari, that were built and put to sea in 2010 and 2012 respectively. I worked with Zyvex Technologies to concept the boats in 3D. The hulls of both vessels are made of Arovex®, a carbon fiber nano-composite system (carbon fiber reinforced plastic enhanced with carbon nanotubes) that reduces structural weight, allowing for more efficient fuel usage and increased range. This is the first time nano-composites have been used as the primary material for a manned vessel.
Another technology demo for the Xbox 360. This shows an entire 360 degree view of an airfield. Most of the plants and distant hills are sprites and the mid-ground elements have three levels of detail (LOD) to compensate for the particle dust under the jet which had a negative affect on frame rate.
An Xbox 360 demo showcasing multiple metallic materials/shader, pre-rendered lighting, and a bloom effect at the end.
